Californians Go for Home Delivery of Cannabis Products During COVID-19 State Lockdown

Delivers Cannabis Products during COVID-19 Outbreak

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic crisis has left governments across the globe to force lock their citizens inside their homes for an indefinite period of time. The outbreak of COVID-19 started in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 and has penetrated its roots in all the major countries ever since then. This crisis situation has created a chaotic environment for people, both physically and mentally. As per the recent reports, the citizens of California have been involved in buying cannabis products through home delivery at a significantly high rate. This can be directly related to the stress buildup amongst the people who are being forced to adopt social distancing by promoting isolation.

To safeguard the health of the citizens, the state has imposed a stay-at-home order, which has stopped people from stepping out. As they couldn’t go to purchase cannabis products, home delivery of such items has been on a boom. Alex Brown, a delivery driver of The Pottery, a cannabis dispensary in Los Angeles, quoted that “It is a lot of trying to quell the anxieties, stress, stuff like that, helping (them to) sleep at night. People just don’t really have too much to do, so… from a recreational standpoint, (marijuana) can kind of make the day go by a bit quicker and a bit more interesting.” The federal government of the state legalized recreational cannabis in 2016 and since then, it is widely used by people for different purposes.

Leading cannabis firms like Acreage Holdings, Canopy Growth, Aurora cannabis, Curaleaf, Papa & Barkley, Mary and Main, etc. are putting in their best efforts to leverage cannabis access channel for the needy people across the U.S territory.

According to the data furbished by cannabis point of sale and data platform Flowhub, the lockdown has given a major boost to the cannabis industry with sales surging by nearly 50% across the U.S markets including California, Colorado, Oregon, and Alaska, etc. in comparison to the previous year figures. While talking about the increase in the volume of delivery orders, Kyle Kazan, chief executive of The Glass House Group stated that

More and more people, because they are trying to stay home and social distance as opposed to coming to the store… they’ve just decided to order from home.

He mentioned that customers are prominently buying edibles such as gummies, brownies, and chocolates rather than cannabis flowers as these are convenient to store and have a longer life.

Interestingly, when talking about cannabis, many people often relate its journey with cryptocurrencies. Both the industries started at a slow pace, faced legal and regulatory restrictions, and positive and negative criticism as well. However, today, cannabis and cryptocurrencies have set the stage for themselves and are prominent industrial sectors when it comes to money. The youngsters are very much attracted to the novel concept of cannabis and crypto. Some cannabis-related cryptocurrencies further strengthen the relationship between the two. These include- Potcoin, DOPECoin, CannabisCoin, CannaCoin (CCN), etc. You can get detailed information about these on CoinNewsSpan. Conclusion

The cannabis industry is in its growing phase and is striving hard to make its place in the medicinal and recreational sectors. While many countries do not legalize dealing in cannabis, the use of medical cannabis is allowed in some states. The big firms focused on cannabis have been putting in a lot of effort to get the necessary support from the government to come out actively in supporting the COVID-19 relief operations. They are trying hard to streamline the access channels for medical cannabis so that more and more people can benefit from it.
