Considering the environmental degradation and its potentially harmful impacts, the cloth and garment industry is looking for alternative sources of raw material which are eco-friendly and also carry commercial value. In the recent development, MoonCloth Designs, a San Francisco based start-up has decided to explore Hemp as an alternative due to its high commercial value and multiple uses.
The startup has launched its own line of eco-friendly hemp-based bath and body products and this Hemp Wellness Collection has been named ‘Moment.’ The objective of this launch has been expressed by the Founder and CEO, Sarah Harf in her own words,
We are driven to bring hemp into the sustainability spotlight as an eco-material solution. We started off working with hotels and spas to provide more sustainable solutions to their environments. We are now launching our own hemp wellness collection which showcases our beautiful hemp robes and hemp seed oil body products, which is now available on our online store and select retail partners.
MoonCloth Designs is working with a variety of hospitality brands which include boutique and luxury hotels like Soho House, Design Hotels, Sensei Resorts, etc. and provides them with sustainable solutions for their daily needs. The products mainly include hotel room or spa amenities, customized hemp textile designs and a range of sustainable and eco-friendly items catering to different needs. Some of the hemp-inspired products include moon glow oil, sacred space mist, tradition Hemp Silk Blend Kimono. Besides, there is also a Moment kit + Cosmetic bag which contains meditation oil, one Restful Warrior Hemp Silk Eye Mask, in varying quantities, providing a complete solution to all that is required to soothe oneself whether at home or on the go. Additionally, Aniwa, a non-profit event organized by the BOA foundation is given 25% of every Moment kit purchased. Kelsi Lavicka, co-founder of MoonCloth Designs says,
